Jacksonville, Florida

Visit Northern Florida and stay in Jacksonville for at least a few days. You can enjoy the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary or the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. EverBank Field is where the Jaguars play during the NFL season, but there’s also the matter of Florida versus Georgia and the fun that surrounds that epic game. Jacksonville’s Riverside arts market has tons of entertainment and great meals made by local producers. Top it off with a walk on Atlantic Beach or get even farther away with a trip to Little Talbot Island State Park.

Sanibel, Florida

Visit Sanibel just off the coast from Cape Coral and Fort Meyers for a true island getaway! Get some sun and sand at Bowman’s Beach or Tarpon Bay and truly enjoy the beautiful water surrounding Sanibel. Definitely stop by J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, you can easily spend forever exploring the trails here. Stick around this awesome island until Sunday because the local Sanibel Island Farmers’ Market has delicious and fresh goods from all over.

Norcross, Georgia

Stay in Norcross and you’ll be 25 minutes north of Atlanta and all the fun that comes with that city. Norcross will keep you away from the big city with all the fun things to do there. You can walk through its historic downtown and really get a feel for the place. Take the kids to Tiny Towne for a truly educational and fun experience before spending time with yourself at Slingshot Entertainment and all the fun inside that massive building.

Augusta, Georgia

People descend upon Augusta in huge droves for the Masters every April, but there’s a lot more for visitors to see! You can get outdoors with places like Riverwalk or the Savannah Rapids Visitors Center. I used to hate Virginia when I was younger but nowadays, driving through there is such a dream. Those beautiful mountains and valleys get me every time! Btw, don’t drive from Miami to Orlando. It’s sooooo long! Thanks for stopping by, Megan!
