5 Things to Do in New Jersey this December

Heading to the Garden State and don’t know where to start? Well you’re in luck because this guide will help you get around during your trip this month. You don’t have anything to worry about so go ahead and book your flight to New Jersey. Here are 5 things to do in New Jersey this December, separated by places throughout this busy and vibrant state.

Newark

Book a hotel in Newark and spend a weekend at some of New Jersey’s biggest events. See the NHL’s Devils, a Seton Hall basketball game, or one of the other huge events happening at the Prudential Center. In nearby Montclair, test your brains and have some fun at Adventure Rooms New Jersey. You’ll need to bring your thinking caps to get through this series of challenges but the fun definitely outweighs the thinking required.

Somerset County

Head to Somerset County and you’ll be in one of America’s most historically rich regions. There are tons of things to do inside and out in this quaint collection of townships and boroughs. Brave the cold and find your holiday spirit at the Festival of Trees indoor exhibit that runs through Christmas. Have some fun at Green Knoll Golf Course with some cross-country skiing. If you’re craving a true community experience, head to Somerville and explore its up and coming downtown before it gets too big.

East Rutherford

East Rutherford gives you access to Metlife Stadium for some football on Sundays throughout the month and visitors can spend the day there without ever leaving. You can also spend time before and after the game or even a whole afternoon navigating this huge flea market that has everything, including food for visitors. If full contact sports aren’t your thing or you’re looking for something interesting to do, spend an evening laughing and eating at the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament.

Galloway Township

This Atlantic City suburb is fun for visitors looking for a quieter side of South Jersey and in Galloway, they get that and more. You can shop forever at Days of Old Antique Center, with finds in store for everyone. Galloway also has two exquisite wineries at Sylvin Farms and Renault so bring your knowledge and appetite for your favorite reds and whites. After all the fun in Galloway, kick back and relax at the locally owned Cloud 9 Day Spa and just forget about the world for a while.

Edison

Spend some time in Edison and you’ll learn all about the world-famous inventor who did his work here while exploring new ways to have fun. Spend some time at the Thomas Edison Center and then have some all-out fun jumping around at Rebounderz Indoor Trampoline Arena. After a long day out, have a night at Cypress Brewing Co sampling some of New Jersey’s finest microbrews.
