Wonderful Florida Beach Destinations

When choosing to visit Florida, you really have a lot of places to choose fromand the trip planning can become too overwhelming! This guide will help you visit Florida beach destinations without the headache that comes with figuring out just where to go. Let’s get started with five wonderful Florida beach destinations!

Pensacola Beach

Aside from spending as much time as possible just lying around on Santa Rosa Island’s Pensacola Beach, there are other things within close reach. Parts of it lie inside the Gulf Islands National Seashore – Florida District and serve as a fairly deserted 4-mile coastal drive that seems like it could run forever. It also holds Fort Pickens, which is a nicely preserved treasure trove of history that’s also well-known as a great photo spot!

St. Augustine

St. Augustine has plenty to do thanks in part to being the oldest settlement in the continuous U.S. Spanish influence is still preserved here and many people love visiting the Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas. St. Augustine beach is known as an easy way to forget about the hassles of life. Many people love visiting the St. Augustine Distillery first for the free tours, great tastes and informative museum experience inside!

Fort Myers Beach

Back on the Gulf of Mexico side of things, visit Fort Myers Beach for its wonderful sand, surf and more! Most people like hanging around Times Square for food and entertainment but many love venturing out to Lovers Key State Park for a hike or Bowditch Point Park to spot some turtles. Dog Beach is a popular spot to take your best friend for a day of fun playing in the sand. Mound House provides an informative experience about the Calusa Indians.

Clearwater Beach

Head to the Tampa Bay area and spend some time in Clearwater Beach. Many people come for Beach Walk, a relaxing way to stroll all the way to Pier 60, another Clearwater hit for sunsets and relaxation. Bright House Networks Field has Phillies Spring Training and Clearwater Threshers Florida State League games during the season. Ruth Eckerd Hall is great if you want to catch any of the big acts coming through the area!

Palm Beach

Head to the barrier island that makes up Palm Beach and experience “the Best of Everything” as the town’s motto states. The Lake Trail is a big draw for history-seekers and joggers, with the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum as one of the area’s top attractions. If you’re searching for water for swimming and relaxation, many people love the beach near Ocean Boulevard or the more secluded R.G. Kreusler Park.
