  • Hands down, I would vote for the Davenport Hotel. It’s a historic hotel right in downtown that has been painstakingly renovated to its former glory of when it opened in 1914. There’s a great display at the hotel that tells the story of how it was saved from demolition in 2002.

    • I love these stories behind hotels. We’ve got one here in Durham (The Durham) that’s been renovated and its rooftop is now a pretty top spot in town for drinking and looking down on the city. *cough* We should do a collab on that, Jeri! *cough* Anyway, thanks for the recommendation on the hotel. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m in the area!
