Enjoy These California Seaside Towns!

Visit California and you’ll have everything to choose from, including vast tracts of natural beauty throughout the state. It’s hard to choose just where to stay, and many people go just for the water. Either way, it’s still a tough decision. Well this guide is going to help you consider some great California seaside towns to enjoy throughout the year!

Half Moon Bay

Spend time in Half Moon Bay and catch lots of time outdoors by the water. There are so many fun ways to get out here, and many people start with wave watching and picnics at Half Moon Bay State Beach. However, the big draw is Mavericks. You can watch Mavericks surfers from Pillar Point Bluff or get a close view after a short hike there from the Harbor View Inn. Foodies will love Pillar Point Harbor’s selection of fresh seafood, and wine lovers will certainly enjoy La Nebbia Winery.

Big Bear Lake

Big Bear Lake is a great option for visitors searching for some time surrounded by fresh water, mountains, and the San Bernardino National Forest. Spend the night at Bear Creek Resort Hotel before your time at the lake, or consider Big Bear Alpine Zoo where visitors can spend time with rescued animals. Picnickers enjoy stopping by Boulder Bay Park, and Snow Summit is a big hit for snowboarders throughout most of the year.

Oakland

Check out Oakland while you’re in the Bay Area for tons of fun! Start from the Oakland Marriott City Center and get your bearings with Oakland entertainment options throughout the year. You can spend time watching either the Warriors, Athletics, or Raiders duke it out with their rivals. Get outdoors with a walk around Redwood Regional Park and see Oakland’s peaceful side. Head to Chinatown and get a nice bowl of soup or some other deliciously authentic cuisine while in the city.

South Lake Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe is a great retreat, with The Beach Retreat & Lodge at Lake Tahoe being one of the best places to stay. Enjoy the Gondola at Heavenly and its beautiful views of the lake. However, leave your fear of heights at home as you hike up to Vikingsholm in the warmer months and tour a truly informative and eye-opening home that offers beautiful views along the way. South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena is known as a great way to avoid the crowds as well as have some fun and watch a game when it’s on.

Torrance

Head to Torrance in Los Angeles’s South Bay and enjoy its mild climate and exquisite beaches. Spend at least a night at the Japanese-themed Miyako Hybrid Hotel Torrance for a taste of luxury. Come for the Toyota USA Automobile Museum’s vast collection of cars and informative displays. Chen Art Gallery will interest those searching for eastern influences, and Torrance Antique Street Faire will help you fill your stomach and shopper’s itch when in town!

I know you can’t wait to enjoy these California seaside towns now, but I have to ask — which ones did you like best? Either way, you’re going to have an awesome trip. Have safe travels and all the best as you explore this awesome side of California!
